Dear Nursery School Families,

As you are aware, we have now had two positive cases in the Nursery School over the past two weeks, and we have also had a number of instances of community members being exposed to people who have tested positive for COVID-19 in recent days.

We have reviewed the information with our consulting physician and our school nurse, and we want to reassure you that it does not appear that any of these exposures or the two positive cases originated within the Nursery School or as a result of Thanksgiving travel or gatherings. This is a strong indicator of the care that all of our families and our teachers have taken in following our health and safety protocols closely.

Nonetheless, given the proximity to our scheduled winter break, we feel that it is prudent to act with an abundance of caution and take the next three days to transition to virtual learning, providing an additional safety buffer and further reducing the potential for any community spread.

The health of our families and teachers has remained our top priority throughout our reopening, and our collective vigilance has allowed us to keep our doors open safely through the majority of the fall with very limited exposure or interruption to in-person learning. Continuing to exercise this high level of caution will be essential to our ability to safely navigate the coming months.

We know that transitioning to remote learning is always challenging for families. Please know that we are committed to continued, safe in-person learning, and we feel these added days will help us toward that end. The teachers will be in touch with a virtual schedule.

This fall has only further solidified our gratitude for this incredible community of parents, teachers, and children. Thank you for your continued partnership in these challenging times.

Warmly,

Rabbi Joy Levitt & Alicia Stoller
