at The Marlene Meyerson JCC Manhattan, we are incredibly proud of our nursery school staff.
We employ 24 full-time teachers, including both head and associate teachers, with two to three teachers in each of our eight classrooms. Head teachers at the JCC are experienced professionals with master’s degrees that enriches their work. Our associate teachers are often working on their advanced degrees. They come to us with a love of children and desire for growth in the field of education. Eighty-six percent of our teachers have or are working toward their master’s degree in early childhood education.
The majority of our classrooms have one head teacher and two associate teachers. Additionally, we have floating teachers available to provide support when necessary. Forty-three percent of our teachers have worked here for five or more years and 12 percent of all staff, including teachers and administrators, has been here for 10 or more years. We are all dedicated to creating environments and experiences that spark wonder and creativity, build confidence and skills, allow children to explore materials, and encourage questioning minds.
