LISA JOELS

Lisa loves being part of the Marlene Meyerson JCC Manhattan community and is excited to be a part of the team at the Saul and Carole Zabar Nursery School. After starting her career in the world of communications, Lisa realized her passion was working with children. Growing up, she spent several summers working at a JCC day camp as a counselor, swim teacher, and lifeguard. Since switching careers, Lisa has spent eight years teaching in NYC preschools as an assistant and head teacher in both Pre-K and kindergarten classrooms. She believes there is nothing like seeing the world all over again through the eyes of a child who is just discovering it. She loves immersing her classes in the Reggio Emilia philosophy that the JCC Nursery School practices, and has an appreciation for not only what can be taught, but also from what can be learned from the children and her surrounding peers.
