AT THE MARLENE MEYERSON JCC MANHATTAN, WE ARE INCREDIBLY PROUD OF OUR NURSERY SCHOOL STAFF

You’ll hear us singing their praises from the rooftop playground! Our school employs 26 full-time teachers, with 3 teachers in each of our 8 classrooms and 2 floating teachers for added support. Each of our head teachers has worked in the field of early childhood education for a myriad of years and is dedicated to the school, our community, and deepening our school’s philosophy.

The educators at our school are curious, passionate, and have a strong growth-oriented mindset. They are collaborative and know the importance of partnership. They meet regularly with families and meet weekly with the school’s leadership team and pedagogista, or curriculum specialist.

Our educators take their work seriously, and we take our educators seriously. The nursery school employs a distributive leadership model where teachers take on additional roles of leadership and school-wide decision making. Each year, 4 teachers sit on the school’s Leadership Team alongside the administrative staff. Additionally, we regularly send two educators to the annual International Study Group in Reggio Emilia, Italy, to learn more about the philosophy that guides our school.
